UK and Ireland Travel Log #5: Dublin

After a short and painless flight, Travis and I made it to Dublin early last Friday morning – our fifth city (and third country) in five days! Even though we were starting to feel the effects of all of the travelling, we were extremely excited to see this incredible city and make the most out of our final day of our whirlwind tour of the U.K. & Ireland.

Our first stop was the USIT office, right smack in the city centre. USIT is one of our amazing partners, who help us recruit on the ground and help organize flights for our Irish participants. We absolutely love working with these folks and are excited to continue growing with them this year. As of now, it looks like our Dublin Job Fair will likely take place at their office in January. Stay tuned for more details!

We then headed to the beautiful Trinity College campus to promote our Info Session & Social for that evening. We snuck in a quick visit to the library to see the Book of Kells and Long Room. Even though I had seen it before, it was just as breathtaking a second time!

Our last (but definitely not least) Info Session & Social event of the season was held at J.W. Sweetman’s, a local pub along the Liffey. We had the pleasure of meeting several new faces and loved talking to them about their talents and learning more about why they are interested in applying. We answered a lot of great questions and couldn’t have done this without the help of our amazing Regional Rep – Anna Brady! We can’t wait to see her again at our Dublin Job Fair, and also back at camp in Canada next summer!

As I’m writing this, I’m back in Toronto and reminiscing about our time in Dublin. Travis, on the other hand, is still out exploring the west coast of Ireland! Can’t wait to hear all about his travels – Ireland is truly a magical country!

Overall, we had an amazing experience in the U.K. and Ireland this Fall. If you made it out to one of our Info Sessions, THANK YOU so much for being superstars. We hope you enjoyed it and feel a little bit more prepared for what to expect for next summer! We are looking forward to seeing your applications and finding you an awesome summer camp placement.

If you couldn’t make it out, please contact us if you have any questions about the NYQUEST Camp Canada program. We are always happy to help. We will also be hosting a Virtual Info Session next week – make sure you follow us on Facebook to get notified about when this will be happening. Also – the winner of our $500 Flight Voucher will be announced on Facebook early next week. Good luck everyone!
