Hi friends! I’m Tarryn and I recently joined the NYQUEST Camp Canada as an Applications Assistant, and I. Am. So. Excited!
I grew up around a quiet lake in the interior of British Columbia, Canada in the hot semi-desert that is Kamloops, and developed a very deep appreciation of the greenery and life around me. Home is where the heart is, and no matter where I am in the world, my little slice of heaven is forever waiting for me every time I close my eyes.

That being said, I am an avid traveller too. My love for other cultures started with an exchange to France that took me all over Europe, which then expanded with my family’s love for hot, tropical places, and my own more recent travels to Peru, Bolivia, and Honduras. My favourite thing to do while travelling is learning the everyday routines of the locals and finding new ‘homes’ around the world.

Speaking of these other ‘homes’, my second favourite one is at a little summer camp I’ve been going to and working at for a total of 12 years on Shuswap Lake in BC. This is where I developed my love for all things summer camp and why I am such a huge advocate for working at and sending kids to camp. I still can’t quite believe that I get to help pass on that experience and excitement to other international workers!

I now live in Victoria, BC following my love of the lush greenery of the island. I have been working on my connection for my career before finishing my BSc in Geography and Environmental Studies at UVic, which has led me to work with NYQ-WEST, and I couldn’t be happier!
